I must have started a hundred projects over the years, some may have only got as far as a guy that could jump, a spaceship that followed the mouse. There are too many that had the potential to be something bigger.
For various reasons these projects ended, whether that be motivation, newer or more interesting ideas. But I learned something from each and every one of them, I am a better games developer because of them.
Sadly, I still have trouble finishing a project!

Reality check 4.
The story was about a Void Pirate named Chip Raydah. Why did the project end? Motivation; I just kind of ran out of steam. Looking back I was trying to something with the art style, running sprites through a graphics filter. I don't know what I was thinking.
reality check the rpg.
Switching over to the Game Maker Engine, I started quite a promising RPG project. It featured a playable character, collision detection, AI that could follow waypoints, attack the player, low cost path finding, and other cool little things. This was the first project I got running on my Android tablet, that was a holy shit moment.
I guess I got a little bored of it, unsure where to go to next. But this is the project that gave me the confidence to use arrays. I'd use them to store collision and grid based path finding. I learned a lot from this project, and the code will not go to waste.
My favourite part about the project was the crowd system, I'd have 1000 of these guys running around the screen doing stuff before the game slowed down.
pokemon defence extreme 2000.
This is a really old project i made in 2010; using Game Maker. It was before I could draw sprites, I just stole artwork from the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games.
It was a tower defense game where each trainer could be controlled with the keyboard arrows.
I ended up deleting it because I didn't want to be known for making a Pokemon fan game. Plus I was a shittier developer back then, the original project file was a complete mess.

Wait! there's more!
Space shooter. Life sim. Real Time Strategy. Turn based strategy. Board game. Procedurally generated roguelike. Visual Novel. Golden Axe meets tower defense. Platformer meets tower defense. Tower defense.
That's the ones I can remember off the top of my head... there's tons more. I often wonder what I could have created if I'd spent all this time on one project!
Hell... I could have made Final Fantasy Seven!
